Women and Children's Services
Services for women and children are based in the Women &
Children's Building of the hospital. The actual services provided
reside within the Planned Care and Urgent Care Divisions, the
details of which you will find in the Clinical Services section of
this website.
The Trust offers integrated and comprehensive care for women,
children and sexual health patients. Our aim is to provide the
highest possible standards of care for women, children and
families. A full range of outpatient, inpatient, day case, and
community services, are provided.
With the exception of the Sexual Health Department which is based
in the main hospital building, services are provided in a separate,
self-contained building adjacent to the main hospital. The main
hospital and Women and Children's buildings are linked by a covered
bridge.
The Women and Children's building opened in 1972, and in 2001 the
Trust received £850,000 to improve facilities within the Maternity
Unit - the work was completed in early 2003.
