      A local artist has donated several pieces of her work to Ellesmere Port Hospital to go in the new Kate’s Corner and Memory Lane facilities.       Caring for You Charter

      The Countess of Chester Hospital has signed up to the Royal College of Midwives’ Caring for You Charter. Head of Midwifery Julie Fogarty and RCM Steward Debbie Stowell-Smith signed the charter, which is encouraging all NHS organisations to improve midwives’; student midwives’ and maternity support workers’ health, safety and wellbeing at work. ...Read more

      The Countess of Chester Hospital has been celebrating its foundation doctors this week as a number of them prepare to move on to pastures new.       Renaming of wards at our Ellesmere Port Site

      As of 1 August 2016 Ellesmere Port Hospital will be changing the names of their wards as follows: • Ruby and Diamond ward will be collectively known as Bluebell Unit • Emerald ward will become Poppy Unit These changes are in line with changes that have been taking place across the hospital in recent months, including; the opening of ‘Kate’s Corner’, Memory Lane and the implementation of a new discharge to assess model of care the unit has been following since May this year. ...Read more

      Information about neonatal services at The Countess

      We are temporarily changing the admission arrangements for our neonatal unit to focus predominantly on lower risk babies, who are born after 32 weeks. This decision is being taken with the support of the regional Cheshire and Merseyside Neonatal Care Network.   The hospital had a Care Quality Commission inspection earlier this year (February), and the results published showed no concerns about our outcomes for babies. ...Read more

      A next-step-home facility called Kate’s Corner has been launched at Ellesmere Port Hospital in partnership with NHS Property Services.
