Core Induction

All new starters are required to undertake the Trust's Core Induction that takes place twice a month on a Monday morning. The core induction is designed to welcome and introduce new employees to the organisation and to give a basic understanding of Trust policies and procedures.

HCA Induction

The HCA Induction is for all newly employed HCA's and Housekeepers to the Trust. These sessions are held at the beginning of every month and follow on from the Hospital Core Induction day.

The programme will provide the attendees with the knowledge and skills to perform basic personal skills and mandatory training required on employment. Sessions include:

  • Food Hygiene
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Activities of Daily Living
  • Fire Lecture
  • Patient Services
  • Welfare Support Services
  • Transfusion Protocol
  • Infection Control
  • Recording Vital Signs
  • Practical Skills sessions

Nurse Induction Day

The course gives a brief introduction to the Trust Preceptorship Programme for qualified Nurses and use of the Preceptorship Pack. The day also covers professional issues, confidentiality and meeting nurses specialists to be given an overview of their service. These include blood transfusion, medicines management, discharge liaison and child protection.
