Multidisciplinary Library

All staff groups are entitled to full membership of the Library. This is extended to local GPs, Dentists, retired hospital staff and students on placement at the hospital. Visitors and staff from other hospitals are permitted to use the Library for reference purposes only.

The current book stock is 3,981 items, which are both medical and multiprofessional.

The Library also has a collection of approximately 70 videos and almost 100 CD-ROMs. We hold a current subscription for 82 current journals of which 23 are non-medical. There are 5 networked PCs, offering Microsoft Office software and Intranet/ Internet access.

Borrowing, renewals and overdue items

Four items in total may be borrowed for three weeks at a time. CD-ROMs can be loaned for one week only. Reference materials and journals cannot be loaned.

Items can be renewed three times, either in person or by phone on ext. 4734. There is a fine of 5p per day for each overdue item.
