The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is an
accredited Centre with the Institute of Leadership and Management
(ILM). This allows the Staff Development Unit to design
and deliver learning products, aligned to the ILM framework, which
leads to learners being able to attain nationally recognised
leadership and management qualifications.
Some of the ways we add Value are:
Work with colleagues across the organisation to identify and
meet learning needs that support the achievement of our
Transformation Goals which enable the organisation to change.
Provide an internal consultancy service and work with managers
to identify learning needs specific to their division or team. And
then advising on how needs can be best met.
Welcome all new staff to the Trust through our corporate
induction event and introduce them to our Values, culture and the
high standards expected of everyone.
Provide a 360 feedback and coaching service for managers using a
range of psychometric instruments.
Deliver training to meet the needs of managers and staff across
the organisation such as equality and deliver leadership and
management training which results in the award of internationally
recognised qualifications.
Fund and commission a range of vocational and functional
qualifications such as AMSPAR, Literacy and Numeracy, Health Care
Diplomas and Apprenticeships. We also lead on embedding the
organisational Values throughout the Trust.

Welcome Event
All new starters must attend the Trust Welcome Event. The
event provides an opportunity to welcome new staff to the
organisation and ensure that each new starter understands the
standards expected of them and the requirements placed upon them in
order to work effectively and safely. The Welcome Event is
based strongly on the Trust Values with an emphasis placed on group
discussion and interaction. The Welcome Event is supported
with a local induction for all staff in their specific work
area.
