Portering Services
The Portering Services have been managed by the Trust since
2005. The Porters provide a key support service in the Trust and
undertake key roles that include:
- Collection and movement of patients
- Collection and delivery of specimens
- Delivery of meals to the wards
- Delivery and collection of linen
- Supply highly motivated well trained staff
Without these key activities, like many support services, the
Hospital would grind to a halt.
The Porters undertake a high standard of training within the
department, this includes Medical Gas Training, Hand Hygiene
training, Trust Induction and Local Training, as well as Trust
Mandatory Training.
