Hilda Gwilliams MBE

Hilda started her career in the NHS as an Enrolled Nurse in 1982 before progressing to a dual qualified Registered Nurse.  In addition to her professional registrations, Hilda has attained an MSc in Health and Social Care from Edge Hill University.  Hilda has worked in a variety of settings spanning maternity, children and adult acute services throughout the North West region.

Hilda was previously Chief Nurse at Alder Hey and in March 2020 was invited by NHS Improvement and England to join the clinical leadership team establishing the NHS Nightingale Hospital in Manchester in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.  In October 2020 Hilda was recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours and was awarded an MBE for services to nursing in the NHS.
