Celebration of Achievement Awards
The Celebration of Achievement Awards is an annual event which
recognises the learning and development that has taken place within
the Trust and honours those individuals and teams who have excelled
in this area within the last year.
The awards ceremony has taken place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel
for the last 3 years, as a formal celebration of the commitment of
Trust staff to education and is a real highlight of the
organisational calendar.
The awards include the announcement and presentation of learning
and achievement certificates to staff in nominated categories. The
evening also has a lively and entertaining charity auction, where
prizes donated by local businesses raise money for Countess of
Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust charities. The 2006 awards
raised just over £2000 for the B POSITIVE appeal.
Adult Learners Week
Adult Learners Week takes place once every year and offers
everyone the chance to find out more about education and training
opportunities open to them. Here at the Countess of Chester we
support Adult Learners Week in promoting access to learning for
all.
The Education and Training Centre is the venue for Adult
Learners Week activities and information, with displays in the
foyer throughout the week and on Adult Learners Day. Adult Learners
Day 2007 took place on 23rd May 2007, and included a number of
taster sessions where everyone had an opportunity to demonstrate
different skills to reveal if it was something that they wanted to
pursue as further learning or training. The day also included a
chance to browse various adult learning information stands, giving
details of training courses available.
