Update: 1 September 2021
We are currently experiencing a global shortage of blood tubes, and we now need to take steps to make sure we optimise our remaining stock for our clinically urgent tests. Therefore we must limit the number of patients attending for blood tests at our Stanney Lane site and 1829 building until replacement blood tube stock is available.
If you already have a pre-booked appointment please attend as normal.
If you are trying to book a blood test appointment we are asking patients to only book if you meet these clinically urgent testing criteria:
- Bloods for patients who have been specifically told by their GP these tests are URGENT and cannot wait
- Patients who have been told by their GP that blood tests are essential for monitoring of their condition and the tests cannot be postponed. Examples of this include those on methotrexate or warfarin but there are others
- Bloods that are extremely overdue and have been told by their GP these tests cannot wait
We are doing all we can to ensure we have sufficient stock for those who need urgent tests. We will update this page when there is a resolution.
If you are unsure please contact your GP surgery for advice.
If you have been told your blood test is not urgent and is for a routine review or screening test please come back to book your test after 17 September.
