Time to test
February 4 was World Cancer Day, and to mark this occasion, our Women’s Staff Network asked the Trust to commit to signing up to the ‘Time to Test’ campaign, which is an initiative set up by UK charity Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust that's designed to raise awareness of cervical cancer prevention in the workplace.
Cervical cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in women aged 35 and under and can often be symptomless in the early stages.
The ‘Time to Test’ campaign asks employers to provide flexibility to attend potentially life-saving screening appointments if they are unable to arrange appointments outside of working hours/shift patterns.
Signing up to the campaign reinforces the Trust’s commitment to promoting the importance of screening and ensures employees don’t face barriers preventing them attending lifesaving screening appointments.
By committing to the campaign, we join 12 other NHS Trusts across the country and further supports the NHS England pledge to eliminate cervical cancer by 2040.
