A new vision to enhance patient and family experience is delivering improvements in care quality at the Emergency Department (A&E) of the Countess of Chester Hospital, as reflected in the latest Care Quality Commission (CQC) survey results (released Thursday 21 November).
The CQC survey, conducted in February and March 2024, gathered feedback from over 400 patients about their experiences of emergency care at the Countess of Chester Hospital with the findings highlighting significant progress in key areas:
94% of patients reported that they had confidence and trust in doctors and nurses
30% more patients reported being able to access food and drink while in A&E.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has launched a new trans-nasal endoscopy service (TNE), giving patients a less invasive and safer, more comfortable experience.
The innovative new procedure allows the endoscopist to examine the oesophagus, stomach and upper part of the small intestine without the need for sedation, which offers a safer option with fewer side effects.

Pregnant women will now be able to access a vital new vaccination at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, which will help protect their newborn babies from contracting Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV).
Offered as part of a nationwide programme launched on 1 September, the vaccine is expected to save lives and ease the burden on the NHS during the challenging winter months.

The Countess Charity is delighted to announce that it has successfully reached its ambitious £750,000 target for the Blue Skies Balcony appeal, thanks to overwhelming generosity and support from the Chester community.

Stroke patients receiving neurotherapy care from the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust can now access therapy sessions from the comfort of their own homes thanks to a new online neurorehabilitation service.
The NROL (Neuro Rehabilitation Online) project, which went live in September, offers a rehabilitation programme to stroke patients via real-time group sessions that are led by experienced NHS therapists from hospital trusts across Cheshire and Merseyside.
