      ITV Granada film at COCH for new bowel cancer campaign

      We were pleased to welcome ITV Granada to our hospital last week, as they filmed a news bulletin in our Endoscopy department, highlighting the importance of bowel cancer screening. Consultant colorectal surgeon Dr Dale Vimalachandran spoke on the Granada Reports bulletin which aired last week, about the fact that bowel cancer is the North West's second biggest cause of cancer death. ...Read more

      National maternity survey results

      Mums who gave birth at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (COCHFT) last year have praised staff for ‘being there for them if help was needed during labour and birth’, a national maternity survey has revealed. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has today released its annual National Maternity Survey findings for 2023, which show overall that patients at the Countess of Chester Hospital were positive about their maternity care, with improvements in a number of areas compared to the previous year. ...Read more

        The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust's pioneering Hospital at Home service made regional headlines recently, as a patient told of how being treated at home helped to alleviate his health anxiety.       New collaborative service which helps patients return home from hospital launches at Countess of Chester Hospital

       A new service that supports getting medically fit people in Cheshire West and Chester out of hospital and back home has officially launched at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Whilst a patient may be medically fit to leave hospital, it is often necessary for their homes to be adapted to ensure all their needs are cared for, and in Cheshire West and Chester, where there is an ageing population, demand for such adjustments is amplified. ...Read more

      Countess of Chester and Ellesmere Port hospitals resume normal visiting following successful flu prevention measures

      Published: 2 February 2024 The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is lifting temporary visiting restrictions at both the Countess of Chester and Ellesmere Port hospitals with immediate effect following a drop in flu cases in the local community.
